As a domestic Chinese supplier of motion control, SEA MOTION has aimed at the most cutting-edge international electric drive control technology since its inception. In 2022, we established our own R&D and manufacturing team. After two years of R&D and improvement, we began mass-producing high-performance Compact DC servo drives products for our customers in 2024. In 2025, we delivered more than 25,000 high-performance compact dc servo drive products to our customers.
The SEA 140A Compact DC servo drives boast an unparalleled compact form factor and powerful data processing capabilities. Like the SEA1-80A, the SEA140A is also based on a DSP+FPGA architecture.
This endows the product with extremely powerful data processing capabilities—high bandwidth, high response, and parallel data processing. The SEA140A's current loop sampling frequency also reaches 10kHz, possessing exceptional linearity.
In terms of continuous effective output power, the SEA140A reaches 11kW. This allows our products to drive higher-power motors with a bus current of 140A. Regarding encoder feedback, we support almost all popular encoder feedback types. The SEA140A also supports incremental + absolute dual feedback, and resolver + absolute dual feedback.
The SEA MOTION series of high-performance compact DC servo drives utilizes an 8-12 layer PCB process. The products employ a stacked, riveted structure based on function—the bottom layer contains the power module, the next layer the drive module, the next layer the control module, the next layer the communication module, and the top layer the interface board. The advantages of this design are high component density, allowing for a very small product size; functional partitioning minimizes interference; and the bottom aluminum substrate enhances heat dissipation for the power components. The disadvantages are higher production costs and longer development cycles.

The SEA140A has maximum bus currents of 140A, 160A, and 40A, corresponding to maximum voltages of 100V, 80V, and 200V. With a bus current of 140A, the continuous effective output current is 99A, and the maximum continuous output power reaches 11kW. It is important to note that the maximum voltage we refer to is the highest voltage the product can withstand. The product should not typically operate at the highest voltage for extended periods. We recommend an operating voltage between the minimum supply voltage and the rated supply voltage.
Product feature And Application
Like all high-performance compact DC servo drives in the SEA MOTION series, the SEA140A can be applied to almost all high-end applications. It features a small size, high current capacity, high power output, and supports virtually all encoder feedback types, including incremental + absolute or resolver + absolute dual feedback.
With high bandwidth, high linearity, and high response, the SEA140A offers greater continuous output power compared to the SEA1-80A. Our R&D department is currently exploring the mass production of silicon carbide as a power component. The adoption of silicon carbide will further improve product performance.
